HOW TO VOTE
The election will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. The polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and eligible voters will need a valid ID in order to cast a ballot.
Polling locations can be found on the Iowa Secretary of State’s website. Additional local election information is available through your county auditor's office.
If you are not registered to vote, you can submit a voter registration form to your county auditor’s office before October 21. You may also register on election day at your polling location.
Registered voters can request a mailed absentee ballot ahead of election day through their county auditor’s office. The first day that voters can request a mailed absentee ballot is August 27. Ballots will be mailed starting October 16.
To receive a mailed absentee ballot, complete a request form and return it to your county auditor’s office. The deadline to request a mailed ballot is October 21. Ballots must be received by your auditor’s office before the polls close at 8:00 p.m. on election day to be considered for counting.
In-person absentee voting will be available starting on October 16 at your county auditor’s office. This will be available weekdays until November 4 during regular business hours at:

Marshall County Auditor's Office, located on the third floor of the Marshall County Courthouse, 101 E. Main St., in Marshalltown.

Tama County Auditor's Office, located at the Tama County Administration Building, 104 W. State St., in Toledo.

Jasper County Auditor's Office, located in Rooms 201 and 202 inside the Jasper County Courthouse, 101 1st St. N., in Newton.
